An Overview:
Indigo Ocean Dreams, Stories to help your children sleep by using by using colorful imagery, and positive Visualization.
I've always had trouble sleeping, so it was no big surprise when my older daughter had trouble falling asleep. We tried running her ragged, getting her up early in the morning day after day, even resorting to medicine, but nothing seemed to help. We were delighted to discover that Ocean Dreams and the other two in the series (Garden of Wellness and Indigo Dreams) actually WORKED.
Each of these books by Lori Lite has a series of short stories designed to help children internalize positive messages and techniques including affirmation for self esteem & progressive relaxation for stress reduction and relaxation. There are also relaxing music and nature sound tracks to assist in the going to sleep routine.
I wouldn't say the audiobooks are perfect, but listening to Lori Lite's books helped to finally break the cycle of insomnia. I'd be lying if I said she's asleep when the sun sets every night, but there's been a huge improvement in her sleep habits. The stories are somewhat juvenile, so my almost ten year old daughter is no longer willing to listen to them.
My seven and three year olds still enjoy Ocean Dreams a great deal. Soon, though, she'll be old enough for Indigo Teen Dreams and I am anticipating that she will enjoy them as much as she used to enjoy these books.
