Its good to see you back at the forum Dorothy. Not sure if there are enough people following at the moment but it would be nice to do another group read.

I'm game! Didn't we have an abundance of fantasy books we liked?

Let me take a look back. I think we had TONS of fantasies. Look here, where we had decided on The Last Werewolf. Still interested in that one, anyone? Or should we start with a fresh poll?

As I recall, we have quite a few fantasy/sci fi lovers here, don't we?

I'm more than happy with The Last Werewolf, its been in my library for a while. But I am worried this book might have a strong chic lit feel and not appeal to everyone ?

    Some other fantasy suggestions:
The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss
The Blade Itself - Joe Abercrombie (I really enjoyed this one in audio)
The Lies of Lock Lamore - Scott Lynch

The Last Werewolf was great, I'd love to do it again! No worries about it being considered chick lit, I read a lot of reviews where women found the book to be completely offensive. They disliked the language and some of the gory scenes. I loved the book, even got my mother to listen! She "didn't hate it". This is high praise for such a book, considering she normally sticks to Jodi Picoult and the like. She did it for me since I did The Help for her.

I think I have The Lies of Locke Lamora.......somewhere.

    Dani,

How much is it like Laurell K. Hamiltion's Anita Blake novels? I've read and listened to the novels early in her Blake series and they were pretty good, but they became more and more focused on the sexual content, which didn't interest me and I quit the series.
