Is it scary? If you had to compare the style to another author, who would it be like? I'm curious.

even though i'd put it in the horror genre i wouldn't say it was scary.if i had to compare the style to another author i would say stephen king, just not as good, but only because of the way the author builds the characters' backgrounds .the story is good and i enjoyed the action parts, what there was of them.what's frustrating is that it could have been so much better, good story, good writing but not enough going on for the size of the book.only my opinion as i know a lot of people have enjoyed this book a lot more than i have

    Horror? or Fantasy?
Not scary, no ... possibly atmospheric? hmmm Dark and mostly dreary LOL

I don't think it's too much Stephen King-like though? The King books I remember reading (and I remember most up to Misery which I didn't enjoy and I stopped reading him religiously after that) were good!! I still remember the tension and the fright of Carrie and Cujo and It etc etc... even the short stories.... but, maybe he changed after them? I have no one to compare The Passage to sorry

If I was to compare King's The Stand to The Passage the Stand gets 10/10 and The Passage 1/10.

I might consider trying a second book if it is planned to be a series, I have read a good first (even second) book in a series and then been disappointed, maybe this would improve

I'm more than halfway through and am enjoying the writing quite a bit.

I finished it! Phew. I'm relieved. That sucker was HEAVY. In weight, that is.

I liked it. It was pretty good. Long, but well written for the most part. I'm dreading waiting for the sequels, though. I'm afraid I'll forget too much to pick it back up again!

I had no idea there were going to be sequels! I've been seeing this book all over the place and really want to pick it up. So heavy. Like one of those family Bibles...Glad you enjoyed it, D!
