If you are new to the comedy of George Carlin, here’s what you need to know. Carlin is a no-nonsense kind of guy who would take a look at the world around him and be very honest in his opinions about the way he saw things. We’re not talking just big political events here, although he will give you his two cents on those too, but even the smallest things.

For example. While you may not think a lot about someone telling you to ‘Have a nice day” Carlin can show you why that’s really pushing their opinions on you and why those who do it should be chastised. There are no punches pulled in this book where Carlin takes shots at everyone and everything from his dog to the evening news, sports, British royalty, being legally drunk and auto racing.

If you like good stand up comedy, this is where you should be looking. It also is important to mention here that George Carlin passed away in 2008. While the creative genius is now gone, I think having audio books like this, that really show him as himself, are a way to keep him living on through the rest of us. When it comes down to it, the only down side of this audio book is that it is all over too quickly.

I was disappointed when it was over. I would have loved for the rants to never end and keep me laughing for the rest of the day.

George Carlin Narrates this book for us, and it wouldn’t have worked any other way. The only person who can really put the oomph into George Carlin humor is the man himself!
