An Overview:

Stephanie is in the middle of everything in Hot Six. Ranger, the bounty hunter, is on the lam and accused of murder and everyone from cops to crooks think Stephanie can help them find him.

Main Body:

In Hot Six Stephanie Plum finds herself on both sides of the bondswoman world, and possibly the law. This latest installment of the Stephanie Plum series kicks off with Ranger missing and accused of murder. Ranger is the ever sexy and ever mysterious bounty hunter that Stephanie may have gotten a little too close to in book five.

This time it seems Ranger was the last person caught on a video feed from a black market warehouse just before the whole place went up in flames with the son of Alexander Ramos, the arms dealer, inside. Did I mention Ramos had a bullet hole in him and the police think ranger caused it?

Stephanie says she won’t take on the job, but no one believes her. She’s being followed by two shady guys in a Lincoln as well as Joe Morelli, all the time cop and periodic love interest. And while she’s not looking for him, Ranger does show up, telling Stephanie he’s innocent and telling her what to do to help him out.

For a while she offers to work with Joe and Ranger on the case, but once she finds out that neither man is giving her the whole story she decides it’s up to her to sort it out, alone. Making things worse? Stephanie can’t even get any peace at home since Grandma Mazur has moved in with her and the place has also been invaded by a homeless golden retriever named Bob.

The Narration:

Debi Mazar reprises her role in this book. She obviously knows the characters and knows how to bring each one to life with her voice.
