An Overview:

In High Five, Stephanie Plum in on the job, a lot of jobs really. Bonds aren’t doing well so she is taking side jobs working for the sexy ranger while also trying to help the family find missing Uncle Fred.

Main Body:

Family takes center stage in High Five, the 5th of the Stephanie Plum series, mainly because there is nothing else to do. Bond cases are down and Stephanie is not making a lot of money. Right about the same time, Uncle Fred disappears. Not that there’s a fee in it for finding him, but family guilt wins out and she is on the trail of her miserly relative who seems to be somehow connected to a lot of bodies in the trash…or at least pictures he has taken of a number of body parts in the trash.

At the same time, Stephanie is trying out new lines of work and play. The dark, mysterious and sexy Ranger is willing to teach her the ropes to work for his ‘hush-hush’ organization. Meanwhile, things are steaming up between Stephanie and Ranger, since she’s in an ‘off again’ status with Joe Morelli. Did I mention Benito Ramirez is back? If you remember the murdering rapist from book one, he’s back around and keeping a close eye on Stephanie as he tries to help her ‘talk to God.”

High Five also includes bizarre stun gun incidents, a bratty Arab Sheik, Aunt Mabel who is planning a Caribbean vacation despite the fact that her husband is the one missing, and an angry little person who she can’t seem to catch but is taunting her incessantly the more she tries.

The Narration:

Lorelei King is the narrator for High Five. She does a great job at giving every character in the book their own voice to make it easy to follow while listening.
