Main Body:

In Full Scoop, Maggie Farnsworth is a pediatrician living in Beaumont, South Carolina. While she has been trying to live a good life as of late, she had some moments in her past that were not so good. Unfortunately some of those are catching up with her as her jail-escapee ex-boyfriend is hunting for her and her daughter.

Trying to keep her safe is Zack Madden, a FBI agent. But there is more than just protection going on. The two create a romantic link that really heats up as the book continues forward. The Full Scoop reference comes from the fact that everyone’s dirty laundry gets aired at the local ice cream shop. Want to know what’s happening, go buy yourself a scoop and listen in.

This is one of Janet Evanovich’s earlier books where she teamed up with author Charlotte Hughes for a series of romance novels with a little mystery to them. If you are looking for the Janet Evanovich that writes the Stephanie Plum novels, this is not the book for you. This was from years before Janet created Stephanie and the writing is not at the same level.

That does not make these books that you should automatically pass on. This one is a fun read, although the plot and story line leave a bit to be desired. If you want a light read with a bunch of wacky characters, pick this one up. If you are looking for an Evanovich novel with more depth, plot and suspense you may want to pass.

Lorelei King is the narrator for this next of the Evanovich throw back romance novels. She really understands the writing, the tone and how to bring the characters and text of the book to life through her voice.
