An Overview:

Once again Stephanie Plum has her work cut out for her in Four to Score. What seemed like an easy task to pick up a bond-jumping waitress turns out to be a complete trial of errors. Bail bonds woman Stephanie Plum is back on the job in Four to Score, the 5th novel in the Plum series. This time she’s on the trail of former waitress Maxine Nowicki.

Main Body:

Nowicki is on the run after not showing up for a charge of car theft. The charge was levied by her ex-boyfriend who wants more than justice for the car. He claims he wants some love letters too, but there is more than that afoot.

Over the course of Four to Score Stephanie finds out that what seemed like a simple bond pick up is a lot more complicated. First, her arch enemy Joyce Barnhardt, who was screwing around with her ex-husband has now been screwing around with her sleazy cousin, Vinnie, who is both of their boss. Vinnie has decided to give Joyce a crack at the case as well. Secondly, she ends up blasted out of her apartment and her car by folks who are trying to knock her off Nowicki’s trail.

She gets help from all over. Trying to keep her in one piece, on again off again love interest, and cop, Joe Morelli convinces Stephanie to move in with him until things cool off a bit, leading to lots of talk from the family. None of this stops Stephanie who with the help of her 250 lb former street-girl cohort Lula and a seven-foot-tall transvestite named Sally Sweet work to find their woman.

And don’t forget Grandma Mazur. Once again, she’s ready and armed to help out anywhere she is, or isn’t, needed.

The Narration:

This audio book was narrated by CJ Critt, a pretty talented voice artist who has just a touch of Jersey sassy to her voice, which you would expect from a Stephanie Plum.
