Back to the Bedroom find opposites Kathryn Flynn and David Dodd thrown together by fate, and a mysterious object that crashes through Kathryn’s roof. As the romance heats up so does a bit of adventure, as someone seems to be looking for the mysterious crashing object.
Back to the Bedroom is a story of the person that may be just beyond the next wall. In this case, Kathryn Flynn and David Dodd live right next door to one another, even sharing a wall. The pair is complete opposites.
Kathryn is cellist who lives her life from goal to goal and working towards each of them. On the other hand, David is a lottery winner who likes to kick back, read comic books and wouldn’t know a life goal if he was slapped with it.
For some time the two never spoke, until something crashed through the roof of Kathryn’s home and he came over to take a look. He looked at more than her home. He got a good look at her and she piqued his interest. Once she gets to know him she has no interest in him.
But it turns out the mysterious object that crashed through the roof also has someone’s interest. They keep breaking into her house hoping to find it. This is where David sees his chance and thinks he can become a part of her life by looking out for her.
While there is a little mystery and adventure happening in this book, before you think it’s a Stephanie Plum novel, realize it is not. This book was one done by Evanovich in the days before the Plum novels, when she was writing for a romance title.
So this book has plenty or romance and is a fluff read with a little adventure thrown in for good measure. That does not mean it’s bad. It’s quite an enjoyable read if you go into it knowing what you are going to get.
CJ Critt has done it again! She is the perfect voice to bring life to all the characters in yet another Janet Evanovich book. Listening to these books would not be the same without her ability to create characters in my mind with the talent of her voice.
