Rumors have been swirling for months about the possible existence of a fourth book in the Millennium series by Stieg Larsson.
The currently bestselling trilogy includes The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest.
Larsson’s brother, Joakim, has confirmed that a manuscript for a fourth book does exist. However, it isn’t actually book four – he skipped that in favor of writing book five. Joakim received the manuscript ten days before his brother’s death.
The family says that they will not publish the manuscript. Larsson’s companion, Eva Gabrilesson, still has possession of his laptop, which may contain content for more books. He had planned for the series to have ten books, but for now, it seems readers will have to be satisfied with the trilogy.
Justin Bieber Autobiography
Much to the dismay of adults with any sense of taste, Justin Bieber has released his autobiography, First Step 2 Forever: My Story. The kid is sixteen years old. I have a feeling that pictures will make up a big part of this one. Does anyone over the age of twelve want to read about his penchant for Chuck Norris jokes or his “insights” into fame? I sure don’t.
In an effort to offer shorter content, they are presenting a new format called Kindle Singles. They will be about 10,000-30,000 words long. This format may appeal to those seeking shorter books as well as authors who self-publish. Amazon is working to recruit writers for this shorter form, so its release date is on hold.
Prince Charles Audiobook
Prince Charles is narrating his own audio book titled, Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World. The Prince has experience in reading aloud as he appeared in BBD1’s Jackanory and read a children’s book. Most audio book narrators are required to go into a studio to record.
The Prince was afforded the luxury of recording in his royal homes. The subject of this book is finding “a classical sense of balance and proportion” in response to current challenges in all areas of our world. The audio book should be available on iTunes on 10/14.
In our forum, I’ve started a poll and discussion about single vs. multiple narrators. Do you enjoy books that feature a full cast or are you more likely enjoy single narrator readings? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
