Science fiction books are one of the most popular literary genres and ever since HG Wells and Jules Verne introduced us to this realm of fiction, it has continued to fascinate and interest generations upon generations of men and women. People who read science fiction generally find themselves addicted, not because of its ability to engross, but because it shows us a different world altogether.

Science fiction books are in abundance in all formats, The optimist or the child in us wants to believe in stories of time travel, robots and androids, artificial intelligence and interplanetary invasions. Science fiction audio books are a definite boon for sci-fi addicts who have become too often caught up with their busy lives, to busy to sit down and read their favorite books. Almost all audio book club libraries and stores carry sci-fi books and laying your hand on a classic or a recent best seller is quite easy.

Science fiction classics like Arthur C. Clark’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, Orson Wells’ The First Men in the Moon and H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds are available in the science fiction audio book section of most stores and libraries. Books by popular science fiction authors like Ray Bradbury, Brian Herbert and Isaac Asimov are available as audio books on cassettes tapes, CDs and MP3s.

Audible.com has an excellent collection of science fiction audio books and all are available as downloads. Other recent sci-fi books like The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams and Dark Tower by Stephen King are also available in different audio formats. Almost all Star Wars books as well as Michael Crichton and Robin Cook books are available as audio books.

Most book stores club fantasy books with science fiction and you can find different audio versions of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time or the famous Harry Potter series in the sci-fi sections of most audio book stores, clubs and rental agencies.

In case you are a die hard fan, then there are some on line stores and book clubs that are exclusively dedicated to sci-fi books only.
