An Overview:
It Ain’t All About the Cookin’: A Memoir of Paula Deen, famous author of a series of best selling cook books and presenter of the Food Network shows, discuss’ s her life in her straight forward and distinctive style.

Main Body:
What other person could create a recipe for fried butter and get away with it? Paula Deen is the Queen of excesses, drawing readers to her memoirs even before knowing anything about it. This book is less about her hedonistic recipes and more about her history. In a typical Paula Deen style, she candidly talks about her struggles as a single mother, entrepreneur and television personality.

I was always awed by her as an accomplished cook, but It Ain’t All About the Cookin’ left me impressed with her as a courageous and shrewd businesswoman as well. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Paula Deen book without a smattering of recipes. These recipes are sure to be ones you’ll pull out and use over and over, true comfort food with ingredients you can find easily and techniques that are familiar to almost everybody.

The Narration:
If you have other of her cookbooks, these recipes may be familiar, but there’s plenty you haven’t seen before. As with other books with recipes I’ve listened to, they don’t come across on audio books as well as in print, but I still enjoyed listening to them.
