Karin Slaughter is climbing the New York Times Bestseller list with the latest entry in her Georgia series: Fallen (read by Shannon Cochran).
If you love great writing, intense thrillers, and amazing suspense, you’ll love Karin.
In Fallen, Faith Mitchell’s mother goes missing, a hostage situation becomes deadly, and Faith’s police instincts become clouded as she becomes more deeply involved in the investigation.
Her partner Will Trent, and trauma doctor Sara Linton are there to help, but will Faith be able to find and reveal the truth? Don’t forget, we are discussing this with author Karin Slaughter on July 25-27!!!!! Join our audiobook forum and check the audiobook of the month thread for more details!
Smokin’ Seventeen by Janet Evanovich
Another title on the NYT Bestseller list is Janet Evanovich’s Smokin’ Seventeen: A Stephanie Plum novel read by Lorelei King. Anyone familiar with the Plum series can tell you that these books are the ultimate beach reads. In fact, check out this thread on our forum dedicated to the author. In this entry, it would appear that someone has Stephanie’s name on a hit list and if that wasn’t enough, her mother is meddling in her love life. Evanovich’s novels are light, funny, and entertaining.
Those of you who have read my blog or forum entries know that, as a reader, I have broken up with James Patterson because he farms out all of his books. I won’t rehash our dirty laundry in public, but he’s on the list again with co-author Michael Ledwidge (whose name is at the bottom of the cover in letters that blend in with the picture, but I’m sure nobody will notice that…) and narrator Elaina Erika Davis with Now You See Her. In keeping with my anti-Patterson stance, I don’t really care what it’s about so you can look it up yourself. 😉
Carte Blanche by Jeffery Deaver
The last bestseller I’m bringing up today is Carte Blanche: The New James Bond Novel, written by Jeffery Deaver and narrated by Toby Stephens. The Bond series has been resurrected with Deaver replacing Ian Fleming at the helm. Whether Deaver’s vision can carry on the Bond tradition of “shaken, not stirred” remains to be seen. If you read this one, stop in at our forum and let us know what you think.
