Nonfiction Audio Books – Moral Animal by Robert Wright and More

I was unable to access the sample, but after seeing the title, I wonder how the information is presented…

Lives Like Loaded Guns by Lyndall Gordon

Lives Like Loaded Guns: Emily Dickinson and Her Family’s Feuds is written  and read by Wanda McCaddon. Using letters, diaries, and documents, Gordon reveals that Emily Dickinson is quite different from her public persona. Her brother’s affair with an Amherst faculty wife started a feud that lasted more than a century. I’m intrigued. This sounds very interesting to me…

Can America Survive? by Christian Pastor John Hagee

Can America Survive?: 10 Prophetic Signs That We Are the Terminal Generation is written and read by Christian Pastor John Hagee. By examining facts and biblical teachings, Hagee asserts that Armageddon is imminent. Phew. Sounds pretty heavy, doesn’t it? I’m not sure I’m up to the task of listening to this.

Nullification by Thomas E. Woods

Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century by Thomas E. Woods and read by Alan Sklar discusses Americans’ rights in the nullification process. States can actually reject unconstitutional federal laws to keep the government from pushing too far. I’m tired of politics.

High Financier by Niall Ferguson

High Financier: The Lives and Time of Siegmund Warburg by Niall Ferguson and read by James Langton present a biographical portrait of an austere philosophy. Warburg was one of the key players in European financial integration post-Hitler. His style was to resist the fast money-making schemes and follow good advice and sense. In today’s economic situation, there may be some pearls of wisdom here for all of us.
