Do they live up to the hype?
Now that the third installment in the trilogy from Stieg Larsson is out, I guess I’m going to have to set aside some time this summer to read the books or audio books.
Everyone says they are fantastic. If any of you has read them, tell me… Do they live up to the hype?
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest by Stieg Larsson and narrated by Simon Vance is the third and last novel in the trilogy. Lisbeth Salander is in ICU in a Swedish hospital. Mikael Blomkvist, her journalist friend, needs to help her prove her innocence as she is accused of three murders. This is a much-anticipated release and I promise (now I’ve put it in writing, uh oh) that I will get to these books this summer.
This is a much-anticipated release
John Grisham enters the YA market with Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer, read by Richard Thomas. Thirteen year old Theo Boone knows the law. He knows the judges, cops, and clerks and he dreams of becoming a lawyer.
It sounds like he’s going to find himself involved in a trial sooner than he thought as he finds himself involved in a murder trial. I wonder if I can get my son into this one… I would sure be interested in reading it!
A New Story from Stephen King
Stephen King is treating readers to a new story: Blockade Billy, read by Craig Wasson. Blockade Billy Blakely was a great Major League Baseball player… but nobody remembers him. He was completely erased from baseball history. No record of him is in any of the books… because Billy had a dark secret. I always enjoy Stephen King…
Sherrilyn Kenyon offers us Infinity: Chronicles of Nick, also for young adults. Fourteen year old Nick Gautier is streetwise and tough, but after his friends try to kill him, he finds himself in an unfamiliar world of vampires, werewolves, and zombies. Looks like Kenyon is trying to lure more boys into the vampire trend. As long as they don’t sparkle, she might just succeed.
Reminder: David Baldacci will be chatting with Audible live on June 2 at 7pm EST. Visit their Facebook page for more info!
