Audio Book CouponsSome Awesome New Bestsellers

It’s great to see some new titles on Audible’s bestselling audiobook list! Some titles are familiar – they’ve been on the list for weeks – but there are some brand new audiobooks as well. Let’s take a look at the top ten.

Impact by Douglas Preston, read by Scott Sowers. This fast-placed thriller has taken the fast track to number one. When several strange incidents all point to a threat from a strange feature activated on Mars, the clock begins ticking. I’ve enjoyed the Preston/Child collaborations, so I think I’ll give this a try.

Under the Dome: A Novel by Stephen King, read by Raul Esparza. I liked this one so much that I read both the audio and hardcover versions!

Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage written and read by Elizabeth Gilbert. From the author of Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert picks up where her last memoir left off. Marrying her lover to keep him from being deported, Gilbert had to face her fear of marriage and move on.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett, read by Jenna Lamia, Bahni Turpin, Octavia Spencer, Cassandra Campbell. This novel has been on every “best books” list that I’ve seen! I guess I am going to have to add it to my list… Set in 1962, three women come together for a clandestine project. Curious? I am.

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, read by Paul Michael. Yes, I still have it. No, I read Under the Dome again instead.

I, Alex Cross by James Patterson, read by Tim Cain and Michael Cerveris. I thought long and hard about whether I should read the latest installment in the Alex Cross series. Anyone who has read my past musings about Patterson knows that I am deeply disappointed in him. I had the book checked out of the library. I returned it unread. I’m done with you, James.

Deeper Than the Dead by Tami Hoag, read by Kirsten Potter. I love suspense thrillers and Hoag is a master. In 1984 California, three students and their teacher discover a female body with its eyes and mouth glued shut. Detective Mendez plans to use profiling, new to law enforcement at the time, to find the killer. That’s all I need to know to add it to my list!

Crush It!: Why NOW is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion written and read by Gary Vaynerchuk. I actually have the Vook version of this and will be discussing it at a later date.

U is for Undertow: A Kinsey Millhone Mystery by Sue Grafton, read by Judy Kaye. Grafton continues to take readers through the alphabet via PI Kinsey Millhone. I stopped reading around J, but you should decide for yourself.

Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us written and read by Daniel H. Pink. Pink reveals the three elements of motivation for today’s challenges: Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose. I wonder if this works with kids as well as in the business world.
