Audio Book New Releases | Too Much Happiness: Stories written by Alice Munro and More!

My must-read list just keeps getting longer as I take a look at the latest audiobook releases! Great new titles are available in fiction and nonfiction, including some from very popular authors.

Eating Animals written and narrated by Jonathan Safran Foer.I am a big fan of Jonathan Safran Foer’s two novels: Everything is Illuminated and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

In his latest endeavor, a nonfiction book, he addresses our eating habits. As he prepares for fatherhood, Foer is compelled to explore the folklore, traditions, and myths that lead us to the way we eat now. I love his fiction work, and will likely give this a try.

Changing My Mind by Zadie Smith and read by Barbara Rosenblat.Another fiction author, Zadie Smith is taking on the nonfiction audience with this collection of essays. She discusses literature, movies, feminism, and many more topics. Will I read this? A definite maybe.

Too Much Happiness: Stories written by Alice Munro and read by Kimberly Farr and Arthur Morey.Alice Munro is the winner of the 2009 Man Booker Prize. This collection of short stories explores relationships, families, and more. You know how I feel about short stories, so in all likelihood I will pass on this one.

Ice: A Novel by Linda Howard and narrated by Fred Sanders.I always enjoy a good suspense/thriller novel. I have read one or two of Howard’s novels in the past, so am interested in taking a listen to this one. A soldier is home on holiday leave and is helping his father, a county sheriff, check on a neighbor who has not been in touch… and an ice storm is looming. I’m hooked.

Under the Dome: A Novel by Stephen King and read by Raul Esparza.At 1,088 pages, this is one hefty novel. I can’t seem to find the length of the audio recordings, though it is available unabridged. In King’s latest offering, a small town in Maine suddenly finds itself sealed off by a large, invisible dome-like force field.

As the citizens attempt to find out why and how this has happened, they must also deal with the fact that that time, and air, is running out. This is a pretty complex project. King has even masterminded an intricate 3D cover for the book jacket.

My plan? Oh, I’m reading it, alright. And when I finish, I plan to spotlight King and let you know how this book stacks up against his classic horror novels.
