There are plenty of new titles in audiobooks this week! How many are ready for Sarah Palin?

Maybe some new fiction? There’s something for everyone this week.

Going Rogue: An American Life written and read by Sarah Palin. Quite honestly, Palin is the reason I didn’t vote for McCain.

The thought that she could become President of the United States scared the stuffing out of me. I’m pretty sure there are a lot of people who will be curious about her life. I’m just not one of them.

Too Much Happiness by Alice Munro, read by Kimberly Farr and Arthur Morey. Winner of the esteemed Man Booker International Prize this year, Too Much Happiness is a collection of new stories from Alice Munro.

I’m not a huge short story reader, but this collection of complicated events and intriguing character studies is calling to me. I think I’ll break my short story ban for this one.

The Towering World of Jimmy Choo: Power, Profits, and the Pursuit of the Perfect Shoe by Lauren Goldstein Crowe and Sagra Maceira de Rosen and read by Rosalyn Landor.
Let me be honest here. I totally want a pair of Jimmy Choos.

There is this pair of stunning stiletto sandals that are made of Python printed snake skin, gunmetal studs and fishnets that cost $1295 USD… *sigh* Oh, sorry, I got distracted for a minute. I’m much more likely to be able to afford the book about the world of Jimmy Choo, fashion icon. But I’ll be thinking of those shoes as I read it.

I, Alex Cross by James Patterson, read by Tim Cain.
Well, do I or don’t I? It looks like Patterson wrote this one without a partner… and I love the Alex Cross series… but I’ve been on Patterson strike since the last one. Decisions, decisions… Okay, I’ll give it a shot. Mr. Patterson, be warned – if this one lets me down, we’re over.

The Wrecker by Clive Cussler read by Scott Brick.
Cussler is one of those authors that I wonder about. I often pick up his books and then put them down again. Am I missing something really good? This novel takes place in 1907. A mysterious saboteur is causing problems for the railroad and has earned him the nickname “Wrecker”.

A big THANK YOU to Simon and Schuster for sending me Stephen King’s Under the Dome audio book.

I will be listening to it and let you know what I think next week! Check Out Audible for all the latest releases.

Reading and writing are my passions. I read a lot of paper books as well as listen to audiobooks utilizing playaways from the local library. I listen to most of my audiobooks on my iPod. I read about one book/week and am rarely seen without one in hand. Come along and discuss this article in our friendly community forum.
