Hello, my name is Dorothy and I am an audio book addict. To see if you qualify to be in my support group, take a look at my top ten audiobook addict identifiers…

#10 You have Google Alerts set for audio books and audiobooks. Google Alerts are handy updates. Just visit the Google Alerts beta page and set your search terms so that you can enjoy the latest news releases that mention audiobooks!

#9 You follow @audioforbooks, @audioforbookscom, @AudioFileMag, @new_audiobook, @booksinaudio and @audible_com on Twitter.  Just to stay on top of up-to-the-minute news in the audiobook world, follow audiobook twitterers as they tweet the news.

#8 You visit Audible.com just to browse. Audible has a comprehensive library of titles. Their new Audible Modern Vanguard is amazing. I just feel at home there…

#7 Your iPod has at least one mp3 book loaded at all times. Key words: AT LEAST ONE.

#6 when you find out that one of your favorite authors has a new book due for release 6 months from now; you place a hold for the PlayAway at your library so you will be the first to hear it.

#5 When a new book is released, you not only want to know the author, you NEED to know the narrator.

#4 You check iTunes with disturbing frequency. It’s important to see what the Audiobook of the Month will be (a new one will be announced this week) and you just never know when there will be a free sample chapter… or a free book!

#3 Sitting in your car, waiting for your child after practice or your spouse from work, you do a mental head slap because you forgot to bring your iPod and this wasted time could be filled with The Time Traveler’s Wife.

#2 You are no longer embarrassed by the odd looks you get when laughing aloud in public as you listen to Janet Evanovich.

#1 You wish this list was available as an audiobook download.

Feed your addiction at audible.
