in Audio Book New Releases

This week, three authors who are regulars on the NY Times Best Seller List have new releases.

James Patterson is a former chairman of an advertising company and is known for his thrillers and mysteries. Kathy Reichs, an American crime writer is also a professor of anthropology.

Dick Francis has to date written 41 international bestsellers and is an acclaimed author of some of the world’s best thrillers. All offer brand new crime thrillers on  audiobook this week.

James Patterson:

in my opinion, offer lower quality novels.

James Patterson is at it again with the fifteenth installment in his Alex Cross series: Alex Cross’s Trial. You may recall my disappointment with the prolific writer’s tendency to collaborate and, in my opinion, offer lower quality novels. Until now, the Cross books had escaped that fate. This entry, co-authored by Richard DiLallo and read by Dylan Baker, features Alex Cross in the title, but appears to be a story of his ancestry. Examining segregation in 1906 America, Nana Mama recounts the story of Abraham Cross to her grandson Alex. Will I give in and read the joint effort? I’ll let you know…

Author Kathy Reichs

 Kathy Reichs:

Luckily, Kathy Reichs is still writing her Temperance Brennan series solo. This twelfth installment is titled 206 Bones and  read by Linda Emond. The title refers to the number of bones in the human body, a number with which Reichs and her main character Brennan are intimately familiar.

Forensic anthropology is at the heart of these riveting novels and I cannot wait to read this one. It begins with Tempe regaining consciousness bound at hands and feet in a small, dark space…

Dick Francis:

Former jockey and current bestselling author, Dick Francis, has released Even Money (read by Martin Jarvis) this week. This is the third time Francis has teamed with his son, Felix, to present a fast-paced crime thriller. Taking place during the world’s most famous horse race, the Royal Ascot, the novel offers blood, money, and deception as only Francis can.

Great new titles from some of the best authors make it another great week for new audiobook titles. Check Out Audible for all the latest releases
